EECN: Setting up and maintaing personal web sites

Users can have personal web pages on their accounts. These files would be stored in a "public_html". Once the HTML documents are in place. The permissions will need to be set such that the web server will be able to read them.

We have provided two scripts to help in setting up and maintaining permissions on these files. The scripts need to be run from secure.eecn.mtu.edu.
Once logged in, they can be run by typing

/usr/local/bin/makewebsite
and
/usr/local/bin/checkwebsite

makewebsite: This script will create a "public_html" directory with a blank "index.html" file in it.
checkwebsite: If the permissions do not appear to work when using the web site that was created, this command should fix that problem.
